Check Our Our New Jeep Liberty Inventory in Florida!
The 2011 Jeep Liberty is one of Jeep's more nifty offerings, with the intriguing Sky Slider canvas roof it walks the line between all the freedom (read taking off the doors and roof) of the Wrangler with all the comfort of
the Grand Cherokee. It comes in a 3.7-liter V-6 that yields 210 horsepower and is available with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The Liberty is available in either a two-wheel-drive or four-wheel drive version. Estimated fuel economy is 15 to 16 miles-per-gallon in the city and 21 to 22 miles-per-gallon on the highway. The only new feature for this year is the Renegade trim level, which is the off-road offering and features an enhanced 4x4 system, skid plates and tow hooks.
The 2011 Jeep Liberty provides a comfortable ride and decent enough on-road handling. As you would expect, however, its off-roading capabilities are high. A lot of road bumps are easily absorbed by the Liberty. You will experience a bit more body roll in this vehicle than in other compact SUVs but overall it maintains the standard Jeep ruggedness that has become its trademark. Take it off the road and you'll appreciate its nimbleness and the Hill Descent Control and the Hill Start Assist, standard on all 4x4 models.
The 2011 Jeep Liberty is all-Jeep styling with the standard seven-slot grille in the front. It features tall windows, which gives great visibility to the driver. The Sky Slider roof is canvas, not glass, as with most sunroofs. Additionally, it is about four times larger than most sunroofs. To open, the Sky Slider folds back on itself. Jeep has assured its buyers that the Sky Slider is leak-proof. Other exterior features include a body-colored grille, moldings, and front and rear bumpers, express-up windows, 16, 17, or 18-inch wheels, the Sky Slider, automatic headlamps, remote keyless entry, power, heated side mirrors (foldable), roof rails, and a chrome grille. Unlike the Wrangler, the spare tire for this vehicle is stored inside.
The inside of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is built for function, not luxury. But still, there are plenty of creature comforts to satisfy. There's also plenty of room inside for taller passengers. Now for the fun part, the Sky Slider sunroof. It's a lot larger than your average sunroof, hence the name. Slide it back and you get a fantastic open cabin feeling. Close it, though and you do experience
some interior wind noise. Cargo capacity is decent with 25.2 cubic feet of cargo room with the seats up and 60.9 cubic feet of cargo room if you use the second-row fold flat seats. The floor console features an armrest, storage and a top tray that is, conveniently, removable. Tie-down loops are abundant in the cargo area. Additional interior features include power locks, power mirrors, and power windows, stain-resistant cloth, optional heated front seats, optional power front seats, floor mats, a hands-free communication system, optional leather-wrapped steering wheel, optional navigation system, and optional steering-wheel mounted audio controls. Safety features include standard all-disc antilock brakes, standard smart key (it immobilizes the engine if someone attempts to steal it), optional parking assist, side curtain airbags, electronic stability control, all-speed tracking control, and electronic roll mitigation.
The 2011 Jeep Liberty is available in three trim levels: the Sport, the Renegade, and the Limited. The Renegade is only offered in a 4x4.
The Sport trim level features 16-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, reclining rear seat, auxiliary audio jack, automatic headlamps, keyless entry, air-conditioning, a 60/40 split folding rear seat, a six-speaker CD/radio, and satellite radio. Opt for the Popular Equipment Group and you'll also get fog lamps, a temperature gauge, leather-wrapped steering wheel, roof rails, cargo cover, a compass gauge, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
The Limited trim level adds 17-inch wheels, heated power front seats, leather, Bluetooth, chrome trim on the outside, driver memory functions, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an eight-speaker sound system. Add the Comfort/Convenience Group to the Limited and you'll get remote ignition, automatic climate control, and rear parking sensors.
The Renegade features all-terrain tires, 16-inch wheels, tow hooks, skid plates, and an enhanced 4x4 system, as well as a different exterior trim.
Other packages include options like the sunroof, upgraded sound system with digital music storage and touchscreen capabilities, a navigation system, and Bluetooth.
The 2011 Jeep Liberty is very capable off road and has good towing capacity. It also offers plenty of cargo capacity on the inside. It's a solid choice in the compact SUV class and will make buyers happy. It?s a great option for families that want to keep off-road fun in their weekends.
