Lease Return FAQ's

Frequently Asked Lease Return Questions

If you haven’t already, you will soon be getting phone calls and letters from our lease retention department to discuss your lease return process.  It’s simple.  Arrigo’s Lease Returns Department will complete the inspection of your vehicle.  Chrysler Financial gave us specific guidelines.  Now there’s no question as to what is considered “excessive wear”.

Will Chrysler Financial contact me?

Yes, Chrysler Financial will also contact you three to six months in advance of your lease maturity.  They will offer you the opportunity to buy your vehicle, or possibly terminate the lease early.  If you have any questions about any calls you receive regarding your lease, please contact our Lease Returns Department at 877-960-7272.

Can I have my vehicle Pre-Inspected?

Yes, Arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Sawgrass will inspect your vehicle prior to the end of your lease.  It is suggested that you contact our lease return department within 4 months prior to lease maturity to schedule an appointment for the inspection.  The pre-inspection will let you know if there are damages or excess wear items.  Any concerns can be addressed prior to lease maturity.  We also have a full service Collision Center that can repair any exterior damage to your leased vehicle.  Of course, the Arrigo Sawgrass Pre-Inspection is absolutely FREE.

Can I have my vehicle inspected at the end of my lease?

Absolutely, you also have the option not to have your vehicle inspected prior to your lease maturity.  In this case, you simply return your vehicle to us while taking delivery of your new vehicle.  We will then complete the inspection process and discuss billable charges, if any, found during the inspection along with any other lease end obligations like disposal fee or over mileage charges.  At this time our Lease Returns Department will complete the necessary paperwork and provide you with a lease-end statement.

What does a Chrysler Financial inspection entail?

Chrysler Financial requires our Lease Return Department to complete a 20 point inspection.  Of course, you will be allowed some latitude for normal use and normal wear and tear.  Items such as small scratches and paint chips will generally not be charged.  The normal rule of thumb is if the scratch or dent is smaller than a credit card, it is considered normal wear and tear.  Anything bigger is considered excessive wear and tear and you can be charged a fee pre-determined by Chrysler Financial.  We have some helpful tips regarding the credit card test below.  If you are still unsure, contact our Lease Returns Department at 877-960-7272 and take advantage of a FREE Pre-Inspection.

What exactly are they looking for during the inspection?

Small dings and scratches (up to 5 per panel), that can be covered by a credit card, are not chargeable.  More than 5 dings or scratches per panel, even if all are smaller than a credit card, will be chargeable.  A windshield is chargeable if cracked or has a chip with cracks.  Dents or scratches in any panel or bumper that are larger than a credit card are chargeable.  A hole, tear or gouge in any panel or bumper, regardless of size, is chargeable.  Missing factory equipment such as DVD players/headphones/remote, Navigation system or Navigation CD, seats, headrests, are chargeable.  Burn holes or tears to any seat cover are chargeable.  Broken/cracked headlight, tail light, or fog light are chargeable.

Can Arrigo Sawgrass help me with the repairs?

Yes!  If our lease retention department finds areas of concern, they will review your inspection with our Service and Collision Centers.  We’ll look for ways to save you money by using services like Paintless Dent Removal and Air Brush Technology.  We also have very competitive pricing on windshields, tires and interior repairs.  We will be happy to answer all of your questions so you can make an informed decision regarding necessary repairs.

How do I handle over-mileage and damage charges?

If you have over-mileage, excess wear or disposal fee charges, you will be mailed a statement.  Once your inspection is completed, a grounding package which includes your odometer statement, inspection report and lease end statement will be completed.  If you have excessive wear charges and elect to have Arrigo Sawgrass complete the repairs, the excessive wear charges will be removed.   If the repairs are significant, you may also want to get your insurance company involved for any body damage or glass repair.  You would then be responsible for only the deductible.  Your final statement will then be mailed to you from Chrysler Financial.

What if I’m not buying another vehicle at this time?

First question: WHY NOT?  Nobody has a better price or better selection than Arrigo Sawgrass!  If you are not replacing the lease vehicle, or if you are buying a non-Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge product, then you will need to make an appointment to return your vehicle.  The lease return process takes approximately 30 minutes.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 877-960-7272.

What if my lease is not with Chrysler Financial?

Please keep in mind that some lease companies will not allow a dealership to take in a lease return.  A non-Chrysler Financial lease company may direct you to an auction site that has the authority to take in the lease and do the inspection.  It is recommended that you contact your lease finance company directly to make arrangements for your lease return.
